Chelsea Clinton Gets the Truth While The American Public is Lied to and Kept in the Dark

Hillary Clinton proved again that she is lying about Benghazi.  A few highlights of the hearing.

From the Questioning of Rep. Susan Brooks:
Rep. Susan Brooks provided one of the memorable visual moments of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s testimony Thursday before a House panel investigating the 2012 attacks on an American diplomatic compound in Libya.
The Carmel Republican placed in front of her a stack of 795 emails sent from Clinton’s staff to the secretary about Benghazi in 2011, and a much smaller stack of 67 emails sent in 2012.
Brooks suggested that Benghazi had fallen off the radar screen.  Of course the other possibility is Clinton and staff are still hiding emails form 2012 regarding Benghazi to protect her Democrat front runner status this election cycle.
Rep. Jim Jordan pointed out the false narrative that Clinton knew was false in emails to her daughter and the Egyptian prime minster.
Here's what the then-secretary of state wrote in an email to her daughter on the night of the attack: "two of our officers were killed in Benghazi by an al-Qaeda like group."
In another email on the day after the attack, Clinton told the Egyptian prime minister that "we know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack, not a protest."
In other words, Hillary told her daughter and the Egyptian prime minster the truth while lying or staying silent as Ambassador Rice lied to the families of the dead and the American public saying a video caused this.  All to protect President Obama’s reelection chances.

Clinton’s Email Arrangement Was Not ‘Permitted’

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lied about her use of a personal email and private server for official government business, and then deleted thousands of emails. Clinton then falsely claimed the House of Representatives Benghazi Select Committee never subpoenaed her.

Now Clinton attempts to assert her actions were permitted, but this is in direct contradiction to her State Department policies and federal regulations. Clinton stated,

Everything that I did was permitted. There was no law, there was no regulation, there was nothing that did not give me the full authority to decide how I was going to communicate.

However, since 2005, the State Department’s Foreign Affairs manual forbid using private email to transmit “sensitive but classified” agency information according to the Washington Examiner. Since 2009, a federal regulation required Clinton to “ensure that Federal records sent or received on such systems [not operated by the agency] are preserved in the appropriate agency record-keeping system.”

Furthermore, Clinton’s office sent an order to State Department employees on June 28, 2011 instructing,

Avoid conducting official Department business from your personal e-mail accounts.

Then when the American ambassador to Kenya resigned in June 2012, an internal audit indicated

[H]is refusal to accept fully the Department’s decisions on … the nonuse of commercial email for official government business, except in emergencies, is widely known and a source of confusion and discouragement within the embassy community.

The Benghazi Select Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) further highlights,

There are at least three separate legal obligations that should have informed and instructed her not to delete emails or wipe her server clean.

The true remaining question is, “When will Hilary Clinton stop lying about her actions?”

Hillary Clinton Even Lies About Whether She Has Been Subpoenaed

Yesterday, the House Select Committee on Benghazi released its March 4th subpoena to the former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton as a response to Clinton’s claim that she was never subpoenaed. (Watch the full press conference on the Clinton email revelations here.)

Clinton attempted to mitigate the situation in a CNN interview yesterday. Reporters and journalist echoed the thoughts of many who are baffled at the way Clinton continues to evade her lack of transparency throughout the developing revelations of lies. Carl Berstien stated,

[T]here are many self-inflicted wounds because she very often wants to cut a corner on the whole truth. She very often obfuscates.

Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin notes,

Some of what she says is sort of maybe technically true … but it evades a lot of the issues that people are concerned about, including whether she did turn everything over[.]

After the Benghazi committee discovered Clinton exclusively used a personal email and server for State Department work, the committee issued several subpoenas. The State Department was not the custodian of Clinton’s record, and did not inform the committee or other investigations. This meant no investigation before the Benghazi committee could access Clinton’s official communications. Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy wrote in a press release,

The committee has issued several subpoenas, but I have not sought to make them public. I would not make this one public now, but after Secretary Clinton falsely claimed the committee did not subpoena her, I have no choice in order to correct the inaccuracy.

Gowdy highlights Clinton’s duties despite the subpoena stating,

Secretary Clinton had a statutory duty to preserve records from her entire time in office, and she had a legal duty to cooperate with and tell the truth to congressional investigators requesting her records going back to September of 2012. Yet despite direct congressional inquiry, she refused to inform the public of her unusual email arrangement.

Gowdy also questions the timing of when Clinton decided to attempt to permanently destroy emails.

The Secretary left office in February of 2013. By her own admission she did not delete or destroy emails until the fall of 2014, well after this Committee had been actively engaged in securing her emails from the Department of State. For 20 months, it was not too burdensome or cumbersome for the Secretary to house records on her personal server but mysteriously in the fall of 2014 she decided to delete and attempt to permanently destroy those same records.

Clinton's Protected Emails Raise Significant Questions

Hilary Clinton showed no regard for State Department policy when she performed government business on her own personal account, and created personal accounts for others closest to her. Now Clinton continues to avoid releasing emails that could disclose how she ignored the security risks in Benghazi. Hilary Clinton continues to try to protect her emails and memos although the State Department did release a cache of the former Secretary of State’s emails after orders from a federal judge in a Freedom of Information Act request.

As Republicans continue to try to piece together Clinton’s response to Benghazi and the avoidable attacks in 2012, nongovernmental groups have resorted to filing lawsuits to gain access to the information.

Thomas Fitton, President of Judicial Watch, and other groups filed lawsuits to force the State Department to provide Clinton’s memos and emails. The parties seek emails on Clinton’s home server because Clinton conducted government business through her personal email address rather than a government email.

The State Department confirmed Clinton failed to turn over all relevant documents. As the Select Committee on Benghazi stated in a press release,

This confirms doubts about the completeness of Clinton’s self-selected public record and raises serious questions about her decision to erase her personal server—especially before it could be analyzed by an independent, neutral third party arbiter.

The committee also asserts that the failure for Clinton to comply with these requests creates questions beyond Libya. Clinton’s use of her personal email and server makes Clinton deleted emails were unacceptable as a State Department official admitted to a Senate committee. Fitton points to the fact that the information in Clintons email is unknown and was not vetted through State Department protocol. He says,

It dramatically undermines the defense both from the State Department and Mrs. Clinton that this is not really a big deal…[and] It makes our litigation all the more important for either a court to try to retrieve that server [or] State and other authorities doing what they need to do to secure it.

Only time will tell whether Clinton will continue to protect information from the reaches of government protocol, FOIA requests, Congressional subcommittee subpoenas, and now lawsuits.

New Blumenthal Emails Call Clintons Credibility Into Question

On Monday, The House Select Committee on Benghazi reported 60 newly released emails between Clinton and Sidney Blumenthal regarding Libya that were never turned over to the committee. The committee deposed Blumenthal recently and discovered that half of Secretary Clinton’s public record concerning the issue regarded emails from Blumenthal. Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) stated,

Once again the Benghazi Committee uncovers information that should already be part of the public record but was not made available to the American people or congressional investigators.

Gowdy notes that this information could have been missed altogether had the committee not called Blumenthal. He also notes,

It is significant our top diplomat was directly receiving unvetted intelligence information, which may have come from sources with financial interests in Libya.

According to the Committee, Blumenthal passed along intelligence memos he did not author or vet the credibility of the memo’s author, yet qualified the credibility. Gowdy believes this calls to question Secretary Clinton’s credibility as well. He said,

It is clear from these emails Secretary Clinton encouraged Mr. Blumenthal to send them in some instances calling into question her previous characterization of them as ‘unsolicited

With 120 pages of new emails, the transparency of Secretary Clinton’s self-selected record should be questioned, and the State Department should ensure a complete record of the former Secretary’s time in office is provided for the public and Congress.
